I don't apply widely. Instead, I find roles with a job sweeper I built in Python:

1. LinkedIn and MyCareersFuture are crawled for relevant job titles. Scanning the last 14 days yields around 900 new postings.
2. Postings by companies whose nature of business is incompatible with what I'm looking for are filtered out. This cuts the number by half.
3. Claude reads every remaining posting. About 10 remain on the shortlist after curating the postings by:
   • Technologies used
   • Role and responsibilities
   • The company's product or services
   • Work arrangement

Finally, I thoroughly consider my fit for the companies on the shortlist before manually applying.

I break large tasks down into smaller, independently releasable chunks and tackle them in order of importance and urgency.

Frequent communication with stakeholders (time estimates, current progress, blockers) helps manage expectations.

A pragmatic team that trusts people to get the work done. One where people are frank with each other rather than beating around the bush.

For example, being able to point out a bad product decision or flag my own oversight without fear of blame or embarrassment.

I raise my concerns tactfully, along with the reasoning behind them. After that, the decision belongs to whoever owns it. I'll commit to it even if I'd have chosen differently.

Rather than plan my career around a ladder, I focus on the present and rise to whatever challenges the company faces.

I've been at my current company since 2019, so when a place fits, I tend to stay.

I keep up through Reddit, mainly subreddits where new articles, tools and projects get shared and picked apart.

I also build personal projects from time to time to solve problems in my daily life. These projects sometimes lead me to try out new tools, technologies and methods.

Yes. At my current company, I co-led a greenfield vertical, led our migration to Next.js (which doubled our PageSpeed score) and drove the team's move to AI-assisted development.

I've also mentored junior developers through code reviews, pair programming and knowledge sharing.

Some. Our platform runs as several services: Docker containers for PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis and Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ for messaging between them and PM2 managing the cron and worker processes.

They're stable enough that they rarely need active development, so my day-to-day work is on the product itself. But I know how the pieces fit together and how to keep them running.

Probably not all of them. Tools change faster than anyone can learn them in advance, so I value being able to pick things up quickly over knowing a fixed list.

My track record reflects that: I started my career on .NET, moved to a React and Redux stack built on a 2015-era boilerplate and later led its migration to Next.js. My personal projects have also taken me into Java, Lua and PowerShell.

We're a multinational marketing technology company for the renovation and furnishing industry.

We help companies with brand visibility and lead generation. We also offer them lead management tools.

For renovating homeowners, we provide services like recommendations, deposit safeguards and dispute resolution.

The team I'm on consists of 6 people.

Broadly, I propose, implement and maintain technical solutions to business problems.

I take on various responsibilities depending on the business priorities, whether that be the frontend, backend, database development or IT operations.

My tasks generally come with the goals of:

• Improving conversions (e.g. feature development, A/B testing).

I'm currently on a hybrid work arrangement of 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

Generally I prefer frontend work but am fine with both.

I'm happy with my current situation but am always open to new opportunities.
